Sisters gather together, beg for cleverness and skill. Every year, the Qiqiao Festival is almost the most lively day in the ancestral halls of various families in Huangpu.

01 Ancient ancestral hall and Meizai House

Huangpu is full of profound cultural heritage, and the traditional culture of Qujie is well inherited and the festive atmosphere is very strong.

There are more than 700 ancient relics of Huangpu, including many ancient ancestral halls. Every year on the Qixi Festival of Komiks, the ancient ancestral hall is always decorated with the Qiaojie, and the ancient ancestral hall is suddenly refreshed.

The Qixi Festival tribute platform is also called Cinema as “Pai Qi Niang”. According to the size of the scale, “Peng Qi Niang” is divided into two forms: “Peng Qi Niang” and “Peng Qi Niang”. “Shopping Xiaoqiniang” is also known as “Meizai House”, and is mostly held by a single family or a joint household in its own hall; “Shopping Daqiniang” must be held in the ancestral hall, only once every few years. On this day when the festival comes, Qiaojie from every household gathered together to prepare for the tribute platform of begging for Qiao and present their own works. The Komiks family prepared to beg for Qiao together to prepare for vegetarian food, Qi Niang, worship Qi Niang, sing Cantonese opera, and play the cheesy of the masters.

The author learned from Lao Qiaojie that in the past, under the altars of “My Laizi House” and “Set Qi Niang”, there were usually pillows and mats. When begging for Qiaojie until late at night, Qiaojie rested and watched the night under the altars, and was having fun.

“Prepare Qi Niang” in ancient buildings

The word “showing Qi Niang” on the Chinese Valentine’s Day in Huangpu is the most important thing!

In addition to “BabaylanQi Niang Plate”, “Qi Niang Shoes” and “Qi Niang Clothes”, tea, wine, rice lanterns, grain towers, incense tables and archways, etc., it also takes time to place other clever products on Gongtai.

The altars of each ancestral hall have their own characteristics, and combined with the decorations of each ancestral hall, it forms a unique style. Let’s take a look together! (The name of Cinema is indefinitely classified) Xiufu Mogong Temple is located in Shabian Street, Hengsha Community, Dasha Street. It faces north and south, with a hard mountain top, a herringbone volcanic gable wall, a gray plastic ridge, ash tube, wood carved eaves, and blue bricks and stone feet. It is a typical Lingnan building.

Every year on the Chinese Valentine’s Day, Xiufu Mogong Temple becomes a sea of ​​flowers. It was built in the Song Dynasty and has been around for more than 900 years. The ancestral hall Babaylan‘s truss corners, golden bells, top silliput, Tongdian wood are all shipped from abroad, with high quality and durability. The paving floor adopts five-slab stone style, which is different from the three-slab style model of ordinary ancestral halls, showing its grandeur.

The Qixi Gongtai in the ancestral hall is placed with the precise layout, and the space distribution of Komiks is just right, ensuring that every piece of Komiks can find the best display position.

The Zhang Family Ancestral Hall at the Miaotou can be said to be one of the best atmospheres in the Qixi Festival Gongtai. The ancient ancestral hall building is decorated with lanterns and colorful colors, and the festive atmosphere is full of prosperity!

Guangren Family School Luogong Temple

Guangren Family School Luogong Temple is located in Hengsha Shuxiang Street. This ancient street of more than 260 meters contains 53 private school halls in the Qing Dynasty. The blue bricks, gray tiles and stone slabs make this old street full of ancient charm.

The annual begging for tribute is mostly held in the Luogong Temple of Guangren’s school. Every year, on the tribute platform of Luogong Temple of Guangren’s family, you must place a plate of golden pineapples, as well as gold baskets and silver baskets arranged on the left and right, representing that this is the Qixi Festival altar of the Luo Family Ancestral Hall.

The Qiaojies in the Queqiao Group of Guangren Family School are very enthusiastic and arranged the small school very exquisitely. Whenever someone comes to watch, Qiaojies will introduce them to you very enthusiastically.

Zhu Family Ancestral Hall

Zhu Family Ancestral Hall was built by Zhu Cheng, a great-grandson of Zhu Xi, a Song Dynasty Neo-Confucianist who opened the village. The ancestral hall was first built between the Song and Yuan dynasties. It has gone through more than 700 years of storms, but it is still preserved.intact.

Walking into the Zhu Family Ancestral Hall, the walls on both sides are full of words and pictures, which record in detail the history of Zhu Family ancestors, Zhu Xi, a Neo-Confucianist of the Song Dynasty, Zhu Cheng, the ancestor of the Hengsha Zhu Family, and Zhu Family Ancestral Hall.

Since the renovation of Hengsha Zhushi Ancestral Hall in 2000, the villagers of the Zhu family gather here to celebrate the Qiqiao Festival every year. Qiaojie, the largest in the village, is over 90 years old.

Every year, the carousel lanterns of the Zhu Family Temple are very distinctive, and the elegant lanterns contrast with the ancestral hall, making the romantic night of the Qixi Festival even more brilliant.
