From a love for literature and art to a love for elephant hat dance

Jin Mingchun was born in Jixiang Village, Baicaogou Town, Wangqing County, Jilin Province. He has loved singing and dancing since he was a child. In 1977, after graduating from high school, Jin Mingchun did not take the college entrance examination, but joined the amateur propaganda team of the Baicaogou Commune Production Brigade, playing hole flutes, performing sketches, and speaking crosstalk in the propaganda team. He was very skilled in everything. Later, Kim Mingchun became a disciple of folk artist Li Minghao, and for the first time formally learned the basic skills and common rules of elephant hat dance. After that, he began to participate in the performance, creation and choreography of elephant hat dance. In 1977, the elephant hat at that time made an aluminum basin into the shape of a hat, with the brim of the hat used as a paper shell, and the beads on the elephant hat spiral were stringed with beads on the old abacus, and the elephant hat pole was replaced by spokes of the bicycle ring. Finally, the elephant hat was fixed on the pole on the elephant hat spiral with a window paper strip. In this way, the elephant hat is made. Jin Mingchun said that after he came into contact with the elephant hat dance, he was first deeply attracted by the elephant hat prop, and since then he fell in love with the elephant hat dance, and then engaged in the elephant hat dance major. He has been doing it for more than 40 years. He has already inherited the elephant hat dance. Komiks has worked for his lifelong career.

Keep up with the times and has always insisted on innovation for more than 40 years

For 42 years, Jin Mingchun has never relaxed training. He practices hard and constantly improves his performance skills. At the same time, he is also brave to innovate.

Komiks According to Jin Mingchun, the first generation of elephant hats he made were hats made of aluminum basins, the second generation was paper-paste elephant hats, the third generation was fiberglass elephant hats, and the fourth generation was resin elephant hats that have been used to this day. “In the 1990s, I made a fiberglass elephant hat. At that time, I saw the safety helmet worn by construction workers. This fiberglass elephant hat can be used again after it is old. Unlike the paper-paste elephant hats, it can be used again. Unlike the previous paper-paste elephant hats, it can be used because of sweating and other reasons.” Jin Mingchun said, “But because glass is reflective, the fiberglass elephant hat looks unnatural under the lights of the stage, so I didn’t use it later. It was changed to a resin elephant hat and has been used until now.” In addition to physical improvements in Komiks, the current improvement of props is also reflected in the progress of dance movements. In order to improve the ornamentality of elephant hat dance, Jin Mingchun added many modern elements to the elephant hat dance performance form, integrating martial arts, street dance and ballet. CinemaIn terms of elephant hat dance skills, the only “flat swing” and “left swing” in the past has developed into “shaking swing”, “flying swing”, “stand swing”, “spinning swing”, “spinning swing”, “crazy swing”, etc. In addition, he has innovated many elephant hat dance moves, such as drilling circles, rotating the zither, turning the body with the ground, climbing the steps, sweeping the hall legs, and other difficult performance techniques.

At present, Kim Mingchun can swing a 32-meter-long multi-layer elephant hat ribbon, which also makes him the only actor in the country and even the world who can swing a 32-meter elephant hat dance ribbon. Jin Mingchun mentioned that the ribbon is made of metal, and the 32-meter multi-layer ribbon is not lightweight. In addition, after the ribbon is thrown, it will surround the body with six and a half circles. This tests the dancer’s comprehensive skills and is very difficult.

On August 19, 2010, he went to the Great Hall of the People to participate in the special performance of China’s certification ceremony for the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List project. Data picture

What is inherited is not just the elephant hat dance, what is inherited is national culture

The rural music dance is the traditional cultural heritage of the Korean people, and it is the Korean people who put the “cosmic<a href="https://funnybookish.coThe concept of "Komiks" in the form of "Komiks" shows their good wishes to pray for a good harvest, yearn for happiness, and integrate into nature. In 2009, the Chinese Korean Korean Bingyouth was included in the "Calendar of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity", which is the only dance-related world intangible cultural heritage project in my country so far.

The rural music dance is mainly divided into different dances in different forms, styles and movements such as hand-camp, long drum, flat drum, and elephant hat dance. The elephant hat dance among them is the dance performed when the rural music dance reaches its climax, and is the highest expression of rural music dance.

According to Jin Mingchun, Wangqing County is the birthplace of the Korean agricultural music dance (elephant hat dance). From 2009 to the present, Wangqing County has taken “1+2” measures from three aspects to inherit and protect the Korean Korean farm music and dance (elephant hat dance). They are: build a brand and form two teams; establish a center, build two major bases and cultivate a group of backbone members, and build two platforms.

After ten years of continuous exploration, exploration, protection, innovation and development, Wang Qing Nong Music and Dance has made breakthroughs in keeping pace with the times, both in terms of costumes and props, performance themes, forms and scales, and has achieved unprecedented brilliant achievements.

As the fourth generation inheritor of Korean agricultural music and dance, Jin Mingchun has organized two Elephant Hat Dance Art Troupes affiliated to the county cultural center, namely the professional performance team “Wangqing County Elephant Hat Dance Art Troupe” and the original ecological performance team “Elderly Agricultural Music and Dance (Elephant Hat Dance) Performance Team”.

Jin Mingchun said that at present, Wangqing County has developed 17 elephant hat dance training bases. Now, Wang Qing, from 80 years old to seven or eight years old, is learning elephant hat dance. At present, Jin Mingchun’s “apprentices” have reached more than a thousand. There will be rewards in the end, and Jin Mingchun himself has also won more than a dozen awards including the “Lotus Award” which represents the highest honor of national dance.

End of the interview, Kim KomiksMingchun excitedly told reporters that when he went to Hainan some time ago, the local people actually knew about the art form of elephant hat dance, which made Kim very happy. He felt that his inheritance and popularization work was effective. He said with emotion, “The significance of my inheritance is to display the farming culture of the Korean people and carry forward it. So Babaylan, what I inherit is not just the elephant hat dance, but the national culture. It is the national spirit. ” (China Youth Network reporter Zhang Liyan)
